• Town’s development group ‘Heart of Hednesford’ adopts Hednesford station • Cannock Chase MP, Amanda Milling, is Patron of the new station adoption team Members of the ‘Heart of Hednesford’ development group have formally adopted the station on London Midland’s Chase Line. The aim is to enhance the station’s appearance as part of the group’s regeneration of the Staffordshire town.

The train operator has reproduced it’ network map packed with Yuletide station name puns including; Santa’s BUSHEY Beard, You’d better not LYE and PENKRIDGE in a pear tree.

London Midland’s Berkswell station has got a new team of supporters. Four members of the local community have officially ‘adopted’ the station through the London Midland Adopt a Station scheme, with the aim of making it more welcoming for customers.

London Midland is reminding passengers to check before they travel this Christmas and the New Year. Reduced timetables will be in operation on some routes on Christmas Eve (24 December). The frequency of some train services will reduce from 13.00 onwards. The last trains from major towns and cities are often very busy so London Midland is advising passengers to travel earlier where possible.

London Midland is introducing a queueing system at Birmingham Snow Hill station from tomorrow (Friday 9 December). The queueing system will be in place from 1800 to 2000 hours on Friday and Saturday evenings for the next two weekends.

The Safer Travel Partnership has been giving Santa a helping hand this year to make sure children in the West Midlands get their Christmas presents. Officers from British Transport Police and West Midlands Police used all three forms of public transport to deliver gifts for youngsters on University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) NHS Trust’s children’s ward to open on Christmas day.

London Midland is playing its part in helping homeless persons across the area. Between 0700 and 1000 on Wednesday 30th November, the town’s railway station is hosting the launch of “Wrap up Warm MK”. Organised by local resident Karen Phillips, the scheme simply asks people to donate unwanted coats that are still in reasonable condition.
