GKN Car Park at Lichfield Trent Valley Station to Close This Weekend

Following the reopening of the Burton Old Road car park the alternative parking, situated on the former GKN factory site, will close over the weekend of 30-31 January. Cars will no longer be able to enter the GKN site from Saturday but vehicles already parked will be able to exit.

London Midland Welcomes Passenger Survey Findings

London Midland has welcomed the findings of the latest National Rail Passenger Survey (NRPS) . The NRPS is carried out by Transport Focus, the independent transport watchdog. The latest survey shows an overall year-on-year improvement for London Midland customer satisfaction. London Midland achieved a score of 86% (above the national average of 83%).

Lichfield Trent Valley Station Car Park Re-opens Lichfield Trent Valley station car park on Burton Old Road is open again after engineers reconnected the electricity supply on Tuesday (26 January). The car park had been closed for over a year while work took place to strengthen the bridge on Burton Old Road.

Commuters can now take advantage of extra free parking at Four Oaks railway station with the opening of a new £2 million Park and Ride extension. The scheme, which built a steel framed single-deck car park over one of the existing car parks, added 55 more spaces to the existing 275 at the busy station near Sutton Coldfield.

London Midland is adding extra carriages to 40 trains for the Worcester Victorian Christmas Fayre. Twenty-six services calling at the town’s two stations, Worcester Foregate Street and Shrub Hill , from Birmingham and Hereford, will have extra carriages on Saturday (28 November). On Sunday 29 November fourteen trains will have additional carriages.

Local rail services between Birmingham and Wolverhampton will now remain suspended until the end of today (Wednesday 18 November). The news follows an update to train operators as Network Rail engineers repair around half a mile of overhead power lines. London Midland is making some changes to its leaf fall timetable in response to customer feedback. On the Cross City line from Monday 2 November, the 0732 and 0812 trains from Selly Oak to Lichfield will call additionally at Longbridge (0722/0802), Northfield (0724/0804), Kings Norton (0727/0807) and Bournville (0729/0809).

London Midland is introducing a temporary leaf fall timetable on the Abbey line again this year. The autumn timetable will apply from Monday, 26 October until Saturday, 12 December. The main change for passengers travelling on the route, which runs from St Albans Abbey to Watford Junction, is that trains will be retimed by a few minutes at most stations.

The autumn timetable, which affects Monday – Saturday services, will apply from Monday, 19 October until Saturday, 12 December.Last year the autumn timetable helped improve punctuality by almost fifty per cent.
