Liverpool Lime Street station will reopen with a full train service tomorrow (Wednesday 8 March) - 24 hours earlier than forecast. London Midland will be running a limited train service between Birmingham New Street and Liverpool Lime Street this evening

Passengers will be able to travel in and out of Liverpool Lime Street station from the start of service on Thursday 9 March. Network Rail has worked with Northern, London Midland, TransPennine Express and Virgin Trains to reopen the railway as soon as possible after a collapsed wall sent up to 200 tonnes of rubble across all four tracks on the approach to the station on Tuesday 28 February.

London Midland has achieved the top Gold Investors in People (IiP) award. IiP is the UK national standard, setting out a level of good practice for the support, management and development of people. London Midland becomes just the fourth train operator to achieve the gold standard. The company achieved Silver when it was assessed three years ago.

Due to a line blockage and damage to the overhead wires in the Edge Hill area, London Midland services will start and terminate at Liverpool South Parkway. Network Rail has reported that the line may not be open until Monday 6th March. London Midland tickets are being accepted on Mersey Rail services between Liverpool Central and Liverpool South Parkway in both directions.

The Cross City Line from Lichfield to Redditch via Birmingham is expected to remain closed today (Friday 24 February) as a result of damage caused by Storm Doris. The remainder of the London Midland network will be open today but passengers are advised to check before they travel. T

Customers on Storm Doris-battered rail routes were today advised by train companies and Network Rail postpone travel until tomorrow if possible. Those with no choice but to travel today were urged to check beforehand on www.nationalrail.co.uk and to expect delays. .

Train operator, London Midland, is named the ‘most improved organisation’ in the latest UK Customer Satisfaction Index (UKCSI). Out of the 244 organisations surveyed, London Midland increased its score by 9.3 points from 68.1 to 77.4 during 2016. Key areas of improvement listed by the report were complaints handling and getting things right first time.

A Birmingham lout, who refused to pay for a fare and assaulted revenue protection managers on a train, has been jailed. Elliot Nash, 32, told the three members of rail staff to “f*** off” and that he was not going to buy a ticket, before threatening to knock them out on the journey between Bournville and Northfield on 11 November 2016.
