West Midlands firefighters will be teaming up with London Midland on Saturday 30 July for a training exercise. Based on a simulated railway incident, it will take place between 10am and 2pm at the company’s Soho maintenance depot, Vittoria Street, Winson Green, which is on the main railway line between Birmingham and Wolverhampton.

An innovative new type of diesel train looks set to be trialled on the line between Coventry and Nuneaton later this year. If successful, the pilot scheme using re-engineered London underground carriages could also boost the number of people that can travel to the Ricoh and provide extra seats for commuters travelling from the new “NUCKLE” Bermuda Park and Coventry Arena stations.

London Midland has added an extra train from Milton Keynes to Bedford for the River Festival this Sunday (17 July). The first through train will now leave Milton Keynes Central station an hour earlier at 1347 and will be officially ‘waived off’ by Milton Keynes South MP, Iain Stewart. London Midland's station at Bedford St. Johns is less than a 10 minute walk from the festival site.

Bromsgrove's new multi-million pound railway station opens to passengers today. Rail users will benefit from a range of improved facilities. This includes a staffed ticket office, passenger waiting room, toilets and 350 onsite car parking spaces. An external concourse will link passengers to the car parking areas along with new bus stops, a taxi rank, pedestrian footpaths and a cycle store.

London Midland is running special trains for the Bedford River Festival . On Sunday Iain Stewart MP will waive off the first through train from Milton Keynes to Bedford. On Saturday night London Midland and the Marston Vale Community Rail Partnership are also running a special a late night “Fireworks Flyer” leaving Bedford at 2310 and arriving at Bletchley at 2353.

London Midland customer satisfaction continues to rise – says official watchdog report

​London Midland has welcomed the findings of the latest National Rail Passenger Survey (NRPS) released today. The survey shows a fourth consecutive year-on-year improvement in customer satisfaction for the train operator. London Midland achieved a score of 86% (above the national average of 80%)

The train, due to depart from Milton Keynes Central at 06:43 and arrive into London Euston at 07:45, had previously been cancelled due to overnight maintenance works in the Milton Keynes area.
